Bio
Cynthia L. Spell has over 25 years of experience representing major developers in all aspects of complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, financings, leasing, and the creation of commercial condominiums. She also represents institutional lenders in real estate-based loans. Representative projects include representing a regional developer in its development, financing, and leasing of a 42 acre project which was developed into a 5 building corporate campus for lease to a major international corporation; representing a regional developer of an approximately 60 acre mixed use project; and serving as local counsel to a national developer in connection with a 30 acre urban redevelopment project.
Cindy also represents franchisors in legal compliance under federal and state franchise laws, and represents franchisors and franchisees regarding the franchisee/franchisor relationship. She is past Chair of the Franchise and Distribution Law Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association and was formerly General Counsel and Executive Vice President to a national franchisor.
