Brown Receives Favorable Judgment for Local Developer

A Baltimore judge has ruled in favor of firm client MCB Real Estate represented by Jamar Brown in the development of a seven-story mixed-use project in Charles Village. The project involves the redevelopment of the former Eddie’s Market site into student housing and retail. It was opposed by neighbors who argued the height violated zoning laws and posed health and property value concerns. The court upheld the Baltimore City Council’s enactment of legislation approving the zoning for the project. The developers, MCB Real Estate and Workshop Development, cited extensive community input and redesigns as part of the project, which they aim to begin by summer 2025.

The project and case were reported upon in more detail in The Baltimore Sun article, “Controversial Charles Village project will move forward as judge sides with developer.”
